Robinson B.
PMA chief sees pattern of cooperation with pharmacy
Drug Topics 1985 Dec 9; 129:12-13

Abstract:

The development of cooperation between the pharmaceutical industry and the profession of pharmacy is discussed. The most recent and dramatic evidence of this cooperation was the joint lawsuit that a coalition of pharmaceutical groups, including Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PMA), brought against a federal agency, the Health Care Financing Administration, that had been pushing for cutbacks in Medicaid drug reimbursement. That successful effort brought the cutbacks to a halt. It demonstrated the power of organized pharmacy in the broadest sense. Another area where PMA might agree with drug retailers is the current issue regarding diverted prescription drugs.
