European communities: outstanding white paper proposals for the completion of internal market in the pharmaceutical sector

Abstract:

A brief description of 4 proposals that will be presented by the European Countries Commission to eliminate the remaining barriers to the free circulation of medicinal products throughout the European Community by 1992 is presented. The proposals address regulation in the following areas: pharmaceutical advertising; the wholesale distribution of drugs; information for patients, including leaflets and labeling; and the criteria of classification of medicines as prescription only.
