The pharmaceutical industry's responsibilities in the prescription process.
Can Pharm J 1981 May; 114:(5):177-9
Abstract:
The Canadian pharmaceutical industry’s responsibilities in the prescription process are discussed. Governments have been involved in the prescription process for several yr and provincial drug plans represent industry’s largest single customer in terms of dollars. However, the growth of drug insurance plans in Canada has had no apparent impact on industry’s promotional strategies. It is felt that the drug industry is in the best position to assist the prescription process by providing useful information that can be used by other participants, physicians, pharmacists and patients.
