Searching for O-T-C opportunities
Pharmaceutical Executive 1983 May; 3:26-29
Abstract:
Suggestions on how drug companies can take advantage of new product opportunities included in OTC Review Panel reports and published monographs are presented. Since the OTC Review began in 1972, more than 25 such drugs or dosages have become OTC, and other switches are pending. The ability to use the law and applicable regulations as a vehicle for gaining FDA approval to switch an established prescription drug to OTC status may be the quickest way for a small company to achieve substantial impact in a new marketing category.
