These low pressure ladies form a potent sales force
American Druggist 1983 Sep; 188:140, 142

Abstract:

The favorable response of pharmacists to female drug representatives is described. MMD Incorporated, a firm that supplies personnel to handle special promotional assignments, employs more than 500 women who call on pharmacists, doctors, dentists and other health care professionals to promote prescriptions and OTC items. A 1980 survey of 103 companies listed in the Pharmaceutical Marketers Directory provided evidence in favor of subcontracting freelance sales services such as MMD. MMD did about one-third better than regular sales force in terms of orders.
