Rosen AM.
In favor of consumer Rx ads: let's argue examples, not principles
Pharmaceutical-Executive 1983 Nov; 3:26, 92

Abstract:

The need for case-specific examples showing how advertising prescription products directly to consumers can contribute to public health through increased patient information and complement the activities of health professionals while serving as a marketing force for industry is discussed. Checks and balances in the health care systems offer protection against excesses in consumer advertising. Federal regulations enforce fair balance and claims substantiation in consumer advertising just as in professional advertising.
