Thompson RC.
Flaw in cytotoxic testing: there's no proof it works
FDA Consumer 1984 Oct; 18:34-36

Abstract:

The promotional claims, and unauthorized use of biological food and allergenic extracts for cytotoxic testing or on-the-spot testing of blood for allergenic sensitivities to food and chemicals by unlicensed clinics are discussed. The effectiveness and validity of the testing carried out in cytotoxic clinics are negated, and the legality of the use of extracts, which are biologics licensed by the FDA, without a physician’s prescription, is questioned. Samples of cytotoxic food testing advertisements are presented.
