How physicians feel about Rx drug product ads beamed at the public
Pharmacy Times 1986 Jan; 52:85-88, 91-92

Abstract:

A mail survey of 250 practicing physicians was conducted to determine their views on advertising prescription drugs directly to the general public. There were 70 (28%) respondents. Of this number, 79% were against advertising prescription drugs to the public, 14% were conditionally against the advertising idea, and only 7% were in favor of the advertising practice. Thus, 4 out of 5 responding physicians are adamantly against the advertising of prescription drugs.
