Ethical issues for pharmacists in managed care.
Am J Health Syst Pharm 1997 May 1; 54:(9):1041-2,

Abstract:

Some of the ethical issues confronting pharmacists handling managed care system formularies that may not be experienced by other pharmacists are discussed, including the use of the formulary as a source of profit for the corporation rather than for improving health care, enforcement of physician compliance with the formulary, industry incentives to managed care for maintaining a closed pharmacy, and the risks to patients and overall health care quality of a too restrictive formulary.
