Abstract:

The current policies of the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) and other national organizations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), on direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs, the results of a separately published survey regarding this type of advertising, and key issues for direct-to-consumer advertising policy development are discussed.
