Texas fight over drug product selection ends
American Journal of Health System Pharmacy 2000 Jun 15; 57:1117
Abstract:
It was announced that the Texas board of pharmacy decided not to require physician authorization to dispense generic substitutes when they are available; the move affirms that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for determining therapeutic equivalence, and it lays to rest a pharmaceutical industry campaign against generic substitution.
