Abstract:

Changes in the source and use of wholesale drug pricing information by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a means of controlling Medicare and Medicaid costs are described, and the impact of industry pricing policies and government responses on pharmacists’ dispensing fees and patients’ copayments is discussed.
