Abstract:

Drug trials are funded more and more often by pharmaceutical companies and this source of funding may introduce biases. Companies may try and suppress research that does not support their products. Although companies claim that they are interested in educating physicians critics in Australia do not believe them and claim that promotion encourages the overuse of drugs.
