Industry promotions: institutionalized deception
Drug Monitor 1991 May; 6:(5):49-51

Abstract:

A former executive of two multinational drug companies has described drug industry promotions as “institutionalized deception.” New promotional techniques create misleading expectations about a drug’s efficacy, enabling companies to sell drugs at a high price. Companies also promote drugs for unapproved and unsupported claims.
