Hoffman JR.
A knotty ethical dilemma
Emergency Medicine News 1991; 13:(5):2, 14-15

Abstract:

The author recounts two instances where he had been asked to speak at conferences. In both cases his speech was sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Because of the comments he made in one case he did not receive his full promised honorarium and in the second the company did not fully cover the expenses to the conference organizers. The author believes that the American College of Emergency Physicians should develop a position paper on the relationship with the pharmaceutical industry.
