Advertising junk mail

Abstract:
Over a six month period the author received 244 separate items of drug company mail. 158 were soley promotions of established drugs, 42 had a competition for a prize or a gift offer, 26 had some postgraduate educational material as well as advertising and 18 were notifications of a new drug or altered formulation. The survey confirms that most mail from drug companies is aptly called junk mail.
