Abstract:
The editor of the American Journal of Medicine responds to criticism that frequently the name of the product of the sponsoring company appears in the title of journal supplements. The editor believes that his journal is not going astray in supporting quality symposia, even if they are underwritten by pharmaceutical companies. He then goes on to outline steps that the journal takes to ensure the quality of supplements.
