Undesirable marketing practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
N Engl J Med 1985 Jul 4; 313:(1):54
Abstract:
Companies are adopting three methods to try and get their drugs placed on hospital formularies: 1) sponsoring clinical trials that are of no value; 2) giving grants that are tied to a request for placing a drug on the formulary; 3) putting personal pressure on members of the hospital pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
