Pharmaceutical advertising in medical journals
Canadian Medical Association Journal 1984; 131:546

Abstract:

The prescribing information that accompanies journal ads is derived from the official product monograph which is a document devoid of promotional material and is prepared by the manufacturer in cooperation with the bureau of human prescription drugs. The author wishes that doctors would look at the prescribing information that accompanies journal ads so that they would get a balanced picture about the drug.
