Abstract:
The past few years have witnessed a proliferation of “scientific†programs for a medical audience under sponsorship of a pharmaceutical company. We need to determine the proper place of manufacturer-sponsored programs about new drugs in the education hierarchy. Another area of concern is asking doctors to write and submit under their own names a scientific article based on data compiled by the manufacturer. The academic community needs to look critically at these issues and generate policies regarding them.
