Promotion of newer antimicrobial agents.
Med J Aust 1983 Jan 8; 1:(1):27-8
Abstract:
Drug companies marketing new antibiotics mount aggressive marketing campaigns in order to recoup their investment. There are three consequences of allowing market forces to have free play: sensory overload, increase in costs and increasing antibiotic resistance. Alternative strategies to promote sensible use of antibiotics are proposed.
