The government and the activities of the pharmaceutical industry
Lancet 1983; 2:1432-1433
Abstract:
(Limited to parts of article dealing with promotion.) In the United Kingdom, the pharmaceutical industry spends about £180 million a year on promotion. The government is going to cut the allowable percent of sales that can be used for promotion from 10 to 9%. This cut is expected to reduce expenditure on sales and promotion by 25%, in cash terms.
