PMAC setting up board to pre-clear ads
Maclean Hunter 1974 Nov 18; 79:3
Abstract:
The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada has set up the Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board to preclear ads for prescription drugs. Total marketing costs are 22.1% of the wholesale price. According to PMAC, elimination of promotion would lead to a savings of $0.03 out of every dollar in the price of a prescription. The cost of promoting to all medical professionals is $5.82 per “customer†per company per year.
