McCormick EM.
How drug sampling has become involved in drug diversion
Pharmacy Times 1988 May; 54:134-137

Abstract:

The link between drug sampling and drug diversion is discussed including measures created to control the diversion of physician drug samples such as the Voluntary Code of Ethics addressing the issue of sampling established by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, the introduction of a legislation dealing with the legal marketing distribution of prescription drug samples and the creation of new forms of sampling that fulfill the requirements of the PMA code and the new legislation.
