Price control on drugs
Pharm-News-Ludhiana 1971 Sep; 20:26-32

Abstract:

An analysis is presented of the probable long-term effects of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order of 1970, on the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Most serious losses will be felt in the quantities of exported drugs. The formula derived by the government to set drug prices was felt to allow too little money for research. More effective limitation of price would be achieved by free enterprise, based on the downward trend of drug prices in unregulated years.
