Display the prescription price poster, but not too conspicuously
Am Drug Merch 1974 Feb 1; 169:32-36, 46

Abstract:

A discussion of the California law mandating prescription price posting, and a chart listing the most frequently prescribed drugs in California, New York, and Texas are given. The law was designed to meet consumer pressure for prescription price disclosure, and to defeat a bill which would have legalized prescription price advertising. Under the law, the price poster must include space for the pharmacy to indicate the professional services and nonprofessional convenience services which are or are not provided by the pharmacy as part of the retail price charged for the drug. The California pharmacy board chose 8 services to be listed on the poster: (1) personal medication record, (2) professional consultation with patient and doctor, (3) emergency prescription service, (4) compounded prescription service, (5) health services information, (6) charge account service, (7) prescription delivery, and (8) Medi-Cal prescription service. In order to prevent unjustified or promotional use of the poster the pharmacy board issued definitions of each service.
