Inquisitive Federal Trade Commission (FTC) starts poking into pharmacy field
American Druggist 1974 May 1; 169:74-75

Abstract:

A discussion of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection probe which focuses on prescription price ads is presented. Staff members are telephoning the secretaries of every state pharmaceutical association and every state pharmacy board asking questions having to do with prescription price advertising and promotion, and activities aimed at curbing such practices. The goal of the survey is to prepare the way for an FTC campaign to protect consumers from interference with their right to information about prescription prices. The full text of the telephone questionnaire utilized by members of the FTC consumer protection staff is provided.
