Abstract:

Reasons for opposition to Senate Bill 2697 are discussed. Passage of this bill would replace the present Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by the Drug and Devices Administration (DDA) and endow the DDA with extensive regulatory power not only over the pharmaceutical industry but over drug prescribing by physicians.
