Abstract:

Merck, Sharp and Dohme Prescription Drug Division’s new large scale computer controlled facility in Elkton, Virginia is described. The first facility of its kind in the U.S., it features computer control of all steps of the tablet manufacturing process, an aqueous tablet film coating procedure, and automated movement of all materials through this procedure.
