A review of the worldwide activities of the American pharmaceutical industry is presented. Statistical data relating to employment, productivity, research, sales, growth, income, inflation, international operations, foreign investment, and medical devices and diagnostic equipment are included. Data relate to firms which are members of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association.
