Abstract:

There has been improvement in some aspects of the regulation of promotion but there are two essential components missing from the Australian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association self-regulatory operation: 1) there is no acceptable mechanism to ensure public accountability; 2) there needs to be a wider range of sanctions and a hierarchy of remedies.
