What really sells a drug today?
Hosp Pharm 1988 May; 23:(5):478-9
Abstract:
New techniques to sell drugs to hospitals include: awarding hospitals points for purchasing drugs and giving away equipment in exchange for points; drug companies paying for the cost of drug therapy if it exceeds a certain length of time; providing educational grants to hospitals in exchange for ordering a minimum amount of a new drug; tying free equipment to increases in average monthly purchases of drug products; sponsoring phase IV trials; offering physicians free airline tickets if they put a specific number of patients on a drug.
