Abstract:
Although the Food and Drug Administration has the statutory responsibility to review therapeutic claims and prescribing information its failure to fulfil the latter task allows inappropriate and misleading statements to appear in ads touting “a line of antitumor drugs.†Doctors who are troubled by inappropriate and misleading drug claims should complain directly to Congressional subcommittees.
